Week 9 Updates

Image
This week in college football, we had many favorites winning, but still filled with a lot of action. To start things off, we had No. 25 Vanderbilt playing against No. 5 Texas. As we all know, Vanderbilt beat Alabama earlier this year, and was looking to continue their upset run this week in Nashville. Their crazy run would unfortunately end in a thrilling game where Texas won 27-24. This dropped Vanderbilt out of the Top 25 and moved Texas down one spot, despite winning.                    Next up, we have Penn State vs. Wisconsin in a Big 10 matchup. Penn State went into this game as the number three team in the country with high hopes of a national championship. They looked to remain undefeated against a tough Wisconsin team. Wisconsin went up 3-0 after the first quarter, but Penn State came back and held on to win 28-13. Penn State remains the number three team in the T...

Week 8 CFB

To start things off this week, we go down south to the great state of Tennessee. Here, the Tennessee Volunteers took on the Alabama Crimson Tide in a rivalry game. This matchup is considered one of the best rivalries in college football. This game was back and forth, with turnovers, good defense and decent offense. Tennessee was down 17-14 in the fourth quarter but scored a touchdown to take the lead with five minutes left in the game. They stopped Alabama on their comeback attempt and kicked a field goal to ultimately win 24-17. This matchup never disappoints and we can't wait until we get to see it again.                    Next up, we head to Austin, Texas. Texas went into their game against Georgia ranked number one in the country. They hoped to stay undefeated and remain the number one team. Georgia had other plans, though and rolled through them like they weren't eve...

Conference Clashes: Week 7 College Football

Image
This week in college football starts off with the Heisman Trophy favorite, Ashton Jeanty, and the Boise State Broncos beating up on Hawaii in a Mountain West Conference matchup. Normally you wouldn't see a non-Power 5 conference matchup get featured like this, but when your running back is on pace to break history, people take notice. Jeanty has rushed for 1,248 yards and 17 touchdowns in just six games so far. He is on pace to break Barry Sanders' rushing record set in 1988, which was 2,628 yards. Jeanty is performing at a level we have not seen in a long time, so it is only right to give him the recognition he deserves.               Next up is Penn State vs USC in a Big 10 matchup. It was the two teams' first meeting since the Rose Bowl in 2017 when USC won on a walk-off field goal. Penn State would hope to get revenge on their trip back to Southern California. USC started off hot, le...

Unranked Frenzy: Week 6 CFB

Image
Starting off the madness of week 6, we have Vanderbilt vs. Alabama. Alabama came into week 6 undefeated and the number-one team in the country. They looked to be the clear favorite to go to the National Championship with the help of star Freshman receiver, Ryan Williams, and quarterback, Jalen Milroe. This didn't intimidate Vanderbilt in any way, though, beating them 40-35. Vanderbilt had never beaten an opponent who was ranked No. 1 in the country in program history, so this was extraordinary for them to do.               Next up is Arkansas vs. Tennessee. Tennessee came into this game with high hopes of being ranked No. 1 after this week. This would all change when an unranked Arkansas team held on and beat them 19-14. Tennessee wanted to prove its critics wrong about the assumption that they underperform at least once a year. Unfortunately for them, this will have to wait until next y...

Around the League CFB & NFL (9/28-9/29)

Week 5 in College Football was nothing short of thrilling. To start things off, we had a matchup between No. 5 Alabama and No. 2 Georgia in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This game got off to a fast start when Alabama went up 21-0 after the first quarter. It took Georgia a while to find the endzone, but they ended up coming back and scored the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter. This didn't last long, though, as Alabama immediately scored on the first play after they gave up the lead. Georgia would run it down the field, but threw an interception in the end-zone to seal the win for Alabama.                 No. 13 USC faced off against a solid Wisconsin team this week. USC looked shaky for the second consecutive week in the first half, as they were down 21-10 at halftime. The biggest question mark has been the defense for USC, but they proved their critics wrong in the second half...
