Week 8 CFB
To start things off this week, we go down south to the great state of Tennessee. Here, the Tennessee Volunteers took on the Alabama Crimson Tide in a rivalry game. This matchup is considered one of the best rivalries in college football. This game was back and forth, with turnovers, good defense and decent offense. Tennessee was down 17-14 in the fourth quarter but scored a touchdown to take the lead with five minutes left in the game. They stopped Alabama on their comeback attempt and kicked a field goal to ultimately win 24-17. This matchup never disappoints and we can't wait until we get to see it again.
Next up, we head to Austin, Texas. Texas went into their game against Georgia ranked number one in the country. They hoped to stay undefeated and remain the number one team. Georgia had other plans, though and rolled through them like they weren't even a Division One team. Georgia was up 23-0 at halftime and never let up. They ended up winning the game 30-15 ad ruined Texas' undefeated dreams.
Last but not least, we have Oregon vs. Purdue. You may look at this matchup and say, "Oh it's an easy win for Oregon." You would have been right, since Oregon won 35-0, but historically, Purdue has ruined a lot of top five teams' seasons. Oregon did not let this phase them one bit. They dominated in every aspect of the game. Oregon's victory kept them undefeated and earned the number one rank after a lot of top five losses this past weekend.
This week in college football was unlike any week we have seen so far. It was filled with rivalries, upsets, and thrilling action. We look forward to week 9, where we have a lot of top 25 matchups.
